News Feed

The News Feed widget is populated from content stored in the universities hub (hub.umd.edu), which is managed by the Office of Strategic Communications (OSC). Visually, the News Feed widget uses a modified version of the Card Group widget to display content with 3 cards.

Adding or editing a News Feed

  1. Follow the instructions to add a new widget to your page (Select: “Add News Feed”), or follow the instructions to edit an existing widget.
  2. Set a title for your widget that will be directly above the cards. title field

View All Link

  • The View All Link appears directly below the group of article cards.
  • URL: The URL is the technical term for the web address your link points to. You can link to the homepage of a website like http://today.umd.edu, or to a specific page based on the filters you set, like https://today.umd.edu/tags/arts-culture. Be sure to include “https://” at the beginning of the address if you are linking to a different website.
  • Link Text: Link Text is the text that will appear to users. Keep link text informative, but short. “View all Articles” is better than “View more” or “View All”. “View more articles for the University of Maryland community” is informative, but too long.
