What is Taxonomy
Drupal’s User guide States: Taxonomy terms are used to classify content, such as a tag or a category. Section 6.5, “Concept: Taxonomy” provides more information.
Read Chapter 7 Managing User Accounts on drupal.com for an in-depth explanation on Roles and user Permissions. As stated in the Glossary of Drupal terms, the Roles are a named set of permissions that can be applied to a user account. While permissions are the ability to perform some action on the site, such as editing a particular type of content, or even the ability to see a particular page.
The Alerts widget provides a space to inform visitors on temporary, but important information specific to that organization (ie: Early closures, immediate changes to a program, etc). Alerts have fields Titles, text, and a Button, and can get setto one of three colors.
The UMD Terp Homepage supports all the same widgets described in these guidelines, as well as this extra widget called Feature. The Feature widget is an image to one side, with text and/or a button inside a box, that can be set to one of 6 different colors. The Feature widget works best when used with 2 or 3 of them stacked right after the other, reversing every other instance. On smaller screens the photo will appear either above or below the block of text depending on the options selected.
While basic text areas, including the Text widget support inline images, those images are not stored in the site’s regular library and cannot be reused. The Image with Text Widget allows you to upload a new image or select from previously uploaded images in the site’s media library. Images can be aligned left or right. Image with Text widgets include fields for a single image, a caption, and a text area.
Text widgets are the most fundamental part of the UMD Terp templates, and can be found in a number of the other widgets listed below. The UMD Terp Person, UMD Terp Article, UMD Terp Event, and UMD Terp Basic Page layouts include this section by default as a “bio” or “body” text area at the top of the layout.
Buttons sets have similar style options as those found in bootstrap (Learn more about bootstrap). The main two styles used in the templates are Primary, and Secondary. It is advised to keep titles short. On larger screens, buttons appear next to each other, while on smaller screens (like cellphones), buttons appear stacked one on top of the other.
The Image widget offers space for a single large image that takes up the width of content on the page. Showcase a high-quality and compelling image to support the content above and/or below it. Make sure the image is large enough.
